Sustainability
We are committed to always be responsible, honest, and accountable. The apparel industry, that we are part of, is one of the major polluting industries in the world, so there is no such thing as a sustainable fashion brand. However, we are proud that we always take conscious decisions and selections to have the best possible impact on people, the planet and all its creatures.
We value artisanal principles, and all our products are handcrafted in close collaboration with trusted partners in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. We actively aim towards a low carbon footprint in all our processes and product lifecycles, and we always use sustainable and recycled materials whenever we can. We don’t use any harmful chemicals. The Resort Co is part of the SUSTAINABLE BRAND PLATFORM community to assess, evaluate and improve our sustainability performance.
DESIGN
Our goal is to be sustainable in our designs. We aim to develop timeless products that will be used and loved for many years. For extra longevity, please treat your products with care. Air out garments between washes, wash at a cool temperature and avoid tumble drying. Extending the life of a product is an important contribution to reduce our footprint on the environment.
MATERIALS
Upcycled Polyester
We are proud registered members and supporters of the Seaqual Initiative®. Most of our swim shorts are produced in exclusive Seaqual Initiative® fabrics, an initiative to clean up the oceans and transform marine litter into premium polyester.
We also support and use NewLife™ yarns for a selection of swim shorts. NewLife™ is the result of a unique and certified system capable of intercepting plastic bottles immediately after consumption to avoid deterioration of PET plastic.
Cotton
All the cotton we use is 100 % organic. Organic cotton represents less than 1 % of the cotton harvested in the world and it is farmed without the use of chemicals, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or GMO crops.
Ethical leather
All our natural leather is locally and ethically sourced. It is byproduct of local farming and agriculture industries. The animals are not raised for the express purpose of using their leather for goods, they are primarily farm animals
Jute
In our espadrilles we use 100% natural jute one of the most sustainable natural fibers in the world.
Recycled EVA
The soles of our flip-flops are made in a mix of recycled and new EVA a sustainable and durable material that is considered eco-friendly because it is BPA free and does not contain chlorides, heavy metals, phenols, latex and other toxic substances.
Packaging
For our packaging we use recycled paper with FSC certification, meaning that the paper has been sourced in an environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable manner.
